November 25th, 2026, 10am at the Regional YMCA | This practical session will guide you through key tips and best practices for writing a Canadian resume, including what to include and what to avoid. Learn how to create a clear, professional, and effective resume that highlights your experience and attracts employers’ attention.

January 11, 2027 | This program helps newcomers with a bachelor’s degree in any field transition into working in the local school district. Participants will learn English specific to the school system and gain insight into best practices in Canadian classrooms. The course will run for 8-10 weeks and include support for job applications, resumes, and cover letters for roles such as teachers, substitute teachers, teaching assistants, or tutors.

October 26th, 2026, 2PM at the Regional YMCA | This workshop is designed to help newcomers feel more confident and comfortable when preparing for job interviews in Canada. It offers a supportive space to better understand what to expect in the Canadian hiring process and how to approach interviews with clarity and confidence.

Participants will gain practical guidance and helpful strategies to support them before, during, and after an interview, while also learning more about workplace expectations in Canada.

October 22nd, 2026 1:00-3:00PM at the Regional YMCA Newcomer Connections | This workshop helps newcomers develop practical time-management skills to balance work, job searching, family responsibilities, and personal wellbeing in Canada. Participants learn how to prioritize tasks, build realistic weekly plans, reduce stress, and develop healthy routines for long-term success.

Nov 3rd- Dec 19, 2026 | Get the English language and cultural skills needed to interpret successfully with professionalism in a variety of community settings (social services, legal aid, police, clinics, educational settings and government programs). The students will learn how to communicate effectively in their new workplace while demonstrating appropriate soft skills and Canadian cultural awareness.

Join us for an exclusive networking and career exploration event. No sales experience is required, and all YMCA newcomers are welcome! Recommended English level 5+.

October 14th, 2026 6PM at the Regional YMCA | Join our session to learn about the different English language tests and understand which test suit your goals, situation and requirements. This session is ideal for anyone who is planning to take English language test and wants to understand their options before registering.
